These specific peers influence drinking through their impact on one\u2019s beliefs regarding the social enhancement aspects of alcohol use. Future research efforts may focus on developing interventions capitalizing on the significance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthworkscollective.com\/how-choose-sober-house-tips-to-focus-on\/\">https:\/\/www.healthworkscollective.com\/how-choose-sober-house-tips-to-focus-on\/<\/a> of specific network peers on alcohol use and challenging social enhancement beliefs related to drinking. To compare our hypothesized socialization model to an alternative selection effects explanation, we examined cross-lagged correlations between number of drinking buddies and alcohol outcomes.
